Tallahassee has some great swimming pools available when you’ve just got to get a break from the Florida heat. It’s great to have public pools available to residents that allow for a fun day with the family without any of the work of owning a pool at home involved in the process.
Some places like the Jack McLean Aquatics Center even offer Jacuzzis and snack bars, while the Levy Pool will offer swim lessons and aerobics for those that want to get some exercise and to teach the kids how to swim. The YMCA is always a great family pool option with lap swimming, swim school, a lifeguard on deck, and a lifeguard on duty to keep everyone safe. Take a look at these options and more when it comes to the best places to take a swim around Tallahassee.
YMCA Parkway Family Pool – 2001 Apalachee Parkway
A great place to start is by heading to the Y where you can get family pool time year round. Many people choose the YMCA because it’s offered just about everywhere making it easy to want to get a membership. You’ll be able to take private swimming lessons or send the kids to swim school.
Make friends at water exercise classes or get your fitness on by enjoying the lap swimming pool. Open swim is available recreationally and you’ll find a lifeguard on duty for your family’s safety, showers and locker rooms to clean up, and both sauna wet and dry options.
Forestmeadows Pool – 4750 N Meridian Road
Another great option is the Forestmeadows Pool in Tallahassee where you’ll find great swim programs for your family. Check out the seven facilities that offer your favorite water aerobics, swim lessons, and even lifeguard training. You may not have known that that Tallahassee Serinas Synchronized Swim Team and the Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club function out of here too.
Four Points Pool Membership – 316 W Tennessee Street
Where you can get a great pool membership this summer to keep you cool and relaxed? The Four Points Pool Membership on West Tennessee Street is a great option. The pool is available from 11am-11pm daily and memberships accommodate two guests. As long as the primary member is at least 21 years old, you can get a membership for yourself and another for just $50 per month or at a discounted rate for longer.
Try the 3-month option for $125 or whole months for $200. You’ll get a discount on food and beverage at their pool bar Aqua and restaurant Juicy Blue, access to happy hour daily from 4-7pm, member event access, and deals going on every day. It may be the perfect break from the kids while you enjoy drinks with your spouse and friends.
Jack McLean Aquatics Center – 700 Paul Russell Road
If you’re looking for a pool that offers a little bit more for the family than your typical pool, you’ll love visiting Jack McLean’s Aquatics Center on Paul Russell Road. It not only has a year-round pool that is outdoors and temperature controlled, but you’ll have access to equipment, activities, and great amenities.
Try the water slide, take a dip in the lap pool, get some water exercise, or enroll in swimming school. You’ll be able to use locker rooms, showers, and there is a lifeguard on duty, but the best part might be the snack bar and Jacuzzi options.
When you’re ready to take a dip in the pool this summer, these are the best options around Tallahassee for a great time!
